Pulwama, Feb 17: Director Horticulture Kashmir and Chairman, JIT, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, KAS today visited IGC, Lassipora Pulwama and I.E Aglar Shopian to inspect various units established under the Post-Harvest Management programme. He was accompanied by the Deputy Director Horticulture, Chief Horticulture Officer, Pulwama/Shopian, Chief Canning and Processing Instructor and other members of Joint Inspection Team.Â
During the visit, Director Horticulture inspected various C.A stores and took stock of the functioning of the units. He enjoined upon the entrepreneurs to work for harnessing the potential of this sector for “growth and employment generation.†He requested all the interested entrepreneurs to invest in the Horticulture sector for creation and establishment of infrastructure to facilitate the farming community with raw materials and its value addition for earning better livelihood through this sector.
The Chief Horticulture Officer, Pulwama and Shopian were directed to ensure the awareness among the growers through different mediums related to benefits under the newly launched schemes like the Operation Greens-Top to Total and PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) as a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
During the interaction, the entrepreneurs raised the demand for upgrading of the road at I.E Aglar.
Later, the Director Horticulture convened a meeting with the Chief Horticulture Officers of Pulwama and Shopian and took stock of all activities being undertaken in the field.
