DGP sanctions retirement gift of Rs 1.53 cr

Jammu, Feb 28: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a retirement gift of Rs 1.53 crore in favour of 153 police personnel of J&K Police who retired from services on Tuesday after attaining superannuation or voluntary retirement.
“Sanction of retirement gift has been issued in favour of five gazetted officers, 113 non-gazetted officers, 29 lower subordinates and six followers. These officers/personnel belong to different units and wings of the department,” a police spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the gift is “a token of appreciation for their services to the department”.
A retirement gift of Rs one lakh each is sanctioned to police personnel from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund at the time of his/her retirement. The gift serves as a token of appreciation for his/her services rendered to the department.
