SRINAGAR, AUG 08: The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Nitin Agrawal, conducted a visit to the International Border in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, where he assessed the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jammu region.
During his visit, DG BSF was provided with an all-encompassing briefing by officials, shedding light on the heightened vigilance maintained by the troops to effectively counteract drone incursions and thwart smuggling attempts originating from the neighboring country. This comprehensive overview was presented to him on Tuesday morning by Inspector General D K Boora, who holds responsibility for overseeing the BSF's operations within the Jammu frontier region.
DG BSF’s tour, spanning three days, involved an exhaustive briefing covering border security and control along both the International Border and the LoC in Jammu.
A spokesperson from the BSF emphasized that the Director General was extensively briefed about recent threats confronted by the force's personnel. These threats encompassed a spectrum of challenges, including attempts at tunnelling and cross-border smuggling initiated by elements based in Pakistan.
The spokesperson highlighted, "In late July, the BSF successfully thwarted two distinct episodes of Pakistani intruders attempting to breach the borders. These instances occurred on July 25 in the Ramgarh sector of Samba and on July 31 in the Arnia sector of Jammu. The intruders were met with fatal consequences as a result of the BSF's timely and resolute actions."
During his visit, Agrawal was also presented with a detailed overview of the BSF's comprehensive strategy to maintain all-round dominance along the International Border. He actively participated in a 'Prahari Sammelan' and took the opportunity to commend the Jammu frontier for its exceptional professionalism and unwavering dedication to effectively secure the border.
