DC Srinagar urges people to use Face Mask at all public places

Srinagar, July 20: Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Wednesday stressed upon the people to use the Face Masks in public places.
Speaking to the media on the sideline of a sports function here in Srinagar, DDMA chairman Srinagar said the measures are taken in view of the spike in daily Covid-19 positive cases.
“The way spike in daily Covid-19 positive cases is being witnessed from some time now, it amounts to take extra care to contain it’s further spread, and as far as Covid appropriate behavior is concerned we all are aware of it as we have gone through many waves of Covid. I appeal to people to use masks in public places to save themselves from getting infected”, DC Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz said.
Notably, district authorities in Srinagar on Tuesday ordered the wearing of face masks mandatory at all public places across the district as a containment measure to stop the further spread of the virus.
The order stated that there has been a recent spike in COVID-I 9 cases in UT of Jammu & Kashmir. Whereas various preventive measures are recommended by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India such as wearing Face Masks, maintenance of social distance and hand sanitization, etc. reiterated by the Department of Disaster Management Relief and Rehabilitation. J&K through various SOPs issued from time to time as effective means of COVID-19 containment.
As per the order, all district/ sectoral officers shall ensure the usage of face masks by all officers/officials in the offices.
