DC Srinagar holds public grievance redressal camp at Check-Sangri in Khonmoh area

Inaugurates Health cum Nutrition Centre at Sangri Khonmoh under Aspirational Block Development Programme

Srinagar, Apr 26: Continuing efforts of the Administration to reach out to the common masses living in the rural and far-flung areas of the district to address their grievances, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of Check Sangri area in Khonmoh Block of the District and held a Grievance Redressal Camp under Weekly Block Diwas programme.
Besides, DDC member, Manzoor Ahmad, the Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions and large gathering of people of the area who projected their grievances and issues before the Deputy Commissioner including macadamization of Check Sangri road, infrastructure upgradation of High School Sangri and Middle School Sekinar, development of playground, augmentation of water supply, deployment of Teaching Staff for Boys Middle School,  upgradation of Health facilities, enhancement in  the quota of IAY cases, expansion of mobile network connectivity  and other issues.
 After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the PRI members and other individuals, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp. He assured the people of Check Sangri and other areas of Khonmoh Block that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.
 The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned Officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
 Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said the District Administration is holding such grievance redressal Camps to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment to ensure their time bound redressal. He said such programmes also provide feedback to the Administration to developmental plans as per proposals of the local populations for the public good and reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the DC office or other Government Offices.
With regard to the demand of augmentation of drinking water supply in the area, the DC asked the PHE authorities to take measures for early redressal of the issue. On the occasion, the DC was informed that a DPR of Rs 5 crore is being formulated by the Jal Shakti Department and the same shall be submitted shortly.
 Regarding deployment of Teaching Staff for Boys Middle School, the DC gave on spot directions for deployment of Teachers in the School.
 While highlighting the benefits of different Government welfare schemes launched for livelihood generation for youth the DC asked the local unemployed youth to come forward and take benefit from such schemes to earn livelihood for them and their family.  
 On the occasion, the DC said an amount of Rs 85 lakh have been spent in the Khonmoh Panchayat Block during last fiscal on different development works.
 During the tour, the DC also inspected the Government Boys High School Sangri and took stock of its functioning. The DC also asked the concerned to take measures for infrastructure upgradation of the School.
 Later, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the Health and Nutrition Centre at Sangri Khonmoh constructed at a cost of Rs 18 lakh under Aspirational Block Development Programme.
