His most endearing qualities were his insistence to always tell the truth and his disciplined way of life,” he added.
Singh said that Mahatma Gandhi was the torchbearer of peace, religious harmony, Non-Violence, and truth in the world and his birthday has been declared as international Non-Violence day by the United Nations. Today is the time that those who truly believe in his ideology must follow and strengthen his ideology for the unity and integrity of the country. While paying rich tributes to Father of the Nation , he said the Gandhi Jayanti reminds us to rededicate ourselves towards promoting amity, peace, selfless service, social equity, and social justice. “What Gandhi achieved in his life was a miracle. This sentiment of crores of Indians was conveyed in the 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' slogan of former Prime Minister LalBahadurShastri given at a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj," he said. Shastriji's simplicity and determination are a source of inspiration even today. DAP will borrow from the ideas and principles of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi.
“Our party policy will not be influenced by politics of religion, caste or creed. It will follow the roadmap of Gandhi, who got India independence,” added Singh.
He said DAP strongly believes that Gandhi’s philosophy holds the key to maintaining peace and harmony in the world.
DAP believes more in practical implementation of his principles and philosophy in his day-to-day life and activities rather than only intellectual approach to all issues. Cautioning people and the party workers about the attempt to torpedo the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi by certain forces.
Singh said that such a path is a threat to the secular fabric of this nation, as secularism is the basic strength of our pluralistic society. He said that Mahatma Gandhi had seen a ray of hope in Kashmir because it maintained religious harmony when the entire nation was in the grip of communal frenzy at the time of partition and asked partymen to take a pledge to spread and follow his philosophy and principles in day to day life.
