Srinagar, June 14: Director Horticulture, Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Monday chaired a meeting here to review the functioning of the department wherein he stressed on creating a farmer-friendly environment in the offices.

The meeting was attended by all the Chief Horticulture Officers and other divisional level officers of the department.

Bhat directed the officers to lay special focus on high-density plantation. He instructed them for making frequent visits to the orchards and stressed for creating a farmer-friendly environment in the offices.

The director also emphasised upon the officers to ensure better implementation of departmental schemes for the ultimate benefit of the grower and instructed them to adopt due transparency in this respect.

During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on various agenda points. The officers apprised the director about the status of various works, revenue generated, expenditure incurred, liability, and progress made in the implementation of various developmental schemes.

The director emphasized on better and full utilization of funds and warned that low expenditure on the part of any of the DDO will not be tolerated. He also advised them to ensure the 100 percent vaccination of all the employees under their subordinate against the Covid-19 disease.
