Srinagar, Aug 05: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually inaugurated a series of heritage conservation projects undertaken by the Srinagar Smart City Limited. The inaugural event took place at the prestigious Kashmir Art Emporium.
In his address, the Lt Governor commended the efforts of the Srinagar Smart City Limited for their commitment to conserving and restoring heritage buildings, as well as enhancing the overall quality of life for the city's residents.
Highlighting the significance of these initiatives, he noted that the restoration of the Shri Kathleshwar temple, the conservation of a compendium of heritage buildings, and the restoration of 15 Ghats along the Jhelum River in Shehr-e-Khaas would collectively play a pivotal role in reshaping the urban landscape.
"We must adopt a comprehensive approach to urban rejuvenation. The introduction of a GIS-based survey, Digital Door Numbering, and the illumination of facades at 11 heritage locations will undoubtedly bring positive changes to the lives of the common people.
