Care of elderly women

The post menopausal women are almost at equal risk of various diseases as men have. They shall take around 2000 kcal daily which shall predominantly include proteins.
The consumption of fats and carbohydrates shall be moderate with restrictions of sugary sweetened, carbonated, caffeinated beverages (juices, soft drinks etc). They shall take vegetables and fruits regularly, and shall include foods rich in iron and calcium to prevent anaemia and bone loss.
They shall keep themselves fit physically by regular walks and exercises.
They shall avoid sitting for long hours and avoid stressing joints because chances of osteoarthritis is common among elderly ladies. They shall maintain tone of their muscles by daily exercises.
