 As the Back to village initiative of the Jammu and Kashmir government enters phase 3, the rural populace in Jammu district are pinning high hopes in view of development works witnessed in previous two phases.

The activities held on the first day witnessed huge participation of the villagers who expressed enthusiasm and appreciated the initiative of Government and development works completed so far in their respective villages.

Visiting officers held public hearings and listened to people grievances in various Panchayats of the district. The Sarpanches of the panchayat also informed that various development projects/ works have been completed in their respective Panchayats identified in the phase 1 and Phase 2.

At panchayat Chatha farm of Block Satwari, District Social Welfare Officer and SDM South, at Panchayat Chowadhi, visiting officer Addl Secy Finance Vishal Sharma, listened to the public's grievances. People put forth their issues and sought immediate redressal.

The People sought construction of lanes drain augmentation of water power infrastructures, development of playground and other issues of public concern.

At Panchayat Malik Pur, Kotli Mia Fateh and Darsopur of Block Miran Sahib visiting Officers held gram sabha and listened to public grievances.

People projected requirement of the dispensary, change of electric wires, construction of lanes and other issues of public concern. The visiting officers took note of all the demands raised by the public.

The visiting officers asked the officials of concerned departments to ensure 100 per cent coverage of beneficiary oriented schemes and their saturation.

The Gram Sabhas were attended by BDCs, Sarpanches, Panches, besides officials of line department.
