Samba, May 16: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and former minister S Manjit Singh on Tuesday said the party will give a dignified and prosperous life to the youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of youth at Panchayat Bari, the former minister said that the Apni Party will bring back peace, and prosperity with equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The youth in J&K are in distress with no hope of employment amid growing concern over the unfair selection process in various recruitments. If we form the government, the dignified and prosperous life of the youth will be restored,” he said, “We will end the discrimination with the people with the formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir and restoration of statehood. The people in all the areas are anguished with the LG administration to ensure equitable development.”
The meeting, according to a statement, was organized by Block President, Youth Wing, Bari Brahmana, Irshan Choudhary at Panchayat Bari. J&K Apni Party ST Wing President Saleem Choudhary along with other leaders including Yaqoob Ahmed was present on the occasion.
Singh said that the people from both the regions demand holding of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as it would enable the people to elect the government of their choice and ensure justice for them.
“The tourism sector, recruitment to various jobs in the government sector, price rise of essential commodities, harassment of people on the name of the anti-encroachment drive, depriving poor of their constitutional right of holding the land, increasing drug addiction and many other such issues have given rise to anti-LG administration sentiments,” he said.
He said that development and unemployment are among the main issues faced by the people especially when there is no elected government. “The bureaucrats are not answerable to the people, but the elected government is always answerable to the people who vote them to power. Therefore, restoration of democratic institutions in J&K is important,” he said.
