Jammu, Dec 10: Aam Aadmi Party Saturday held a protest sit-in outside Nirvachan Bhawan in Jammu demanding early restoration of democracy in J&K by holding assembly polls.
Led by former minister and State Coordinator Harsh Dev Singh, the AAP activist raised slogans in favor of holding elections at earliest while expressing concern over prolonged delay in restoration of democracy which, according to them, is pushing people in a situation of distress.
Addressing the protesters, Harsh Dev Singh said that the protest is a part of a series of efforts of Aam Aadmi Party to bring the Election Commission of India and BJP out of slumber so that assembly polls can be held at the earliest and democracy is restored. He said, “Prolonged delay in holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir is a serious cause of concern and it shows adamant attitude of BJP which wants to rule Jammu and Kashmir through its dictatorial bureaucratic setup."
Singh alleged that the bureaucratic setup in Jammu and Kashmir is ruling the roost paying no concern towards plight of masses leading to corruption, nepotism, favoritism to such an extent that jobs are on sale and most of the recruitment processes are hanging midway. “This adamant and ignoring attitude with dictatorial policies has pushed Jammu and Kashmir people in a state of distress and this all can only end after polls which BJP is not holding as it is aware of its shrunk land”.
