7 cities host 5th edition of Nagesh Trophy

Jammu, Feb 03:  Seven cities across the country are hosting the 5th edition of Indusind Bank Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket tournament for the blind 2022-23.
The tournament is being held from January 31 to March 10, 2023.
27 State/Union Territory teams and the team of Railways will take part in the tournament.
The cities which are hosting the event include Chandigarh Mumbai,Jabalpur, Ajmer, Belagavi, Chennai and Puducherry. The teams have been divided into 6 groups based on the ranking of the previous edition of the tournament.
Dr Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust for the disable and President Cricket Association for the blind in India (CABI) said the performance in the National tournament will help the players to make it to the Indian blind cricket team.
E John David, General Secretary Cricket Association for the blind in India  (CABI) endorsed Dr Mahantesh's statement.
"We need to play competitive cricket to promote cricket for the blind,” said Rajanish Henry, Chairman of the Nagesh 
Trophy and Vice President of Cricket Association for the Blind in India.
Ajay Kumar, General Secretary Cricket Association for blind Jammu and Kashmir gave best wishes to J&K team.
J&K Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Surjeet Singh, Manpreet Singh, Irfan Mir, Ajay Singh (all BI), Ajay Kumar (Vice Captain), Chamandeep Singh, Shiv Sharma, Mohd Rafeeq, Nikait Singh, Angrej Kumar Padha, Mohd Azeem, Peer Basit andSyed Khursheed.
