Jammu, Jan 09: Three minor siblings, who were found alone at the Railway Station Jammu, were safely repatriated back to Child Welfare Committee Kupwara on Monday.
The siblings, aged six years, two-and-a-half years and six months, were found alone and abandoned at Jammu Railway Station on December 7, 2022, by an NGO working for the welfare of children. Afterward, the siblings were produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Jammu the same day and were handed over to the government-run Cradle Baby Reception Centre for shelter and care.
After hectic efforts of ADGP Railways, SSP Railways and Child Welfare Committee, their father was traced to Tangdhar, Kupwara. After assessing the circumstances in which the father is placed, it was decided to repatriate the children back to their district.
Later with personal efforts of ADGP Railways and SSP Railways, a police escort was provided for the safe transfer of the children to their native village and on Monday, the children were safely handed back to CWC Kupwara.
