25th J&K Taekwondo Championships starts at Parade, Jammu

Jammu, Feb 21: The 25th J&K Taekwondo Championships started on Tuesday at Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade, Jammu. 
The Championship is being organized by J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd.) under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI). 
A much-awaited premier Taekwondo Championships was held for Every athlete of J&K UT, in fact the young kids were having an enormous craze in their eyes for the said event.
This championship is the only of its kind, where players secure a chance to have the 
International level of exposure during the play. The playoff ceremony was observed by the Players, Officials and Parents as well.
The competition is comprised of all age divisions with inclusion of the youngest age division (Pee Wee). The first day has witnessed a massive skill show between the Sub-Junior and Cadet Athlete's and the Junior and Senior will showcase the next day. There was a competition for Para athletes as well and the entry for Para and Orphan athletes were sponsored by J&K Taekwondo Association under the supervision of Shri Chandeep Singh (Para,World Championship Medalist).
The Championships was started with the demonstration of Taekwondo skills by young Boys and Girls of different Clubs/Institutions.
The Chief Guest of the Opening ceremony was Rouf Ahmad Bhat (Under Secretary to Govt.) and was received by Brinder Singh Manhas (TD, JKTA). 
While speaking on the auspicious occasion, he congratulated all the participants/organizers for organizing such a great UT Championship. He kicked off the opening matches of both Male and Female athletes and also assured all possible help to promote the Taekwondo sport in the entire J&K-UT. He also urged all the players to remain fit and healthy, so as to achieve fruitful results in competitions and at last urged all the players to remain cautious related to drug menace.
