2019 champion J&K to play in pool A

Selection trails to start from November

Srinagar, Oct 18: AAINBALL Federation India is going to organize Desert Aainball National Championship 2021, and 2019 champions team J&K will be playing in pool A in the event which is scheduled to be held at Rann, Kutch, Gujarat from December 17 to 20 December  20, 2021.
A total of 24 states /UT’s are going to participate in this national event, which has been divided into six pools of 4 teams each.
J & K, being the winner of the last national championship, is placed in pool A along with Telangana, Manipur, Manipur, and Gujrat.
Kerala being the last championship runner-up being placed in the Pool B along with Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, and Chandigarh, whereas Pool C includes Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Pool D includes Assam, Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha, Pool E has Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal,and Pool F has Punjab, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand.
However, 10 girl’s teams across various states/UT in India are also going to participate in this championship.
The top two teams of each pool will qualify for super 12 (teams) which will be further split into 2 pools.
The two qualifiers from each pool will play semifinals. The final will be played on December 20, 2021.
All state teams have been directed to report on December 17, 2021 at Bhuj Railway station or Bhuj Airport.
The championship is being sponsored by Navneet Publications.
General Secretary Aainball Federation India, Syed Waseem told Rising Kashmir, a total of 12 players will be selected from different districts across J&K that would represent J&K at national level.
“The selection of the team will be based on trials through talent hunting across various districts in Jammu and Kashmir, starting from the second week of November this year,” he informed, and added that among the selected the best 12 will participate in the national championship.”
He added trials will be conducted under the supervision of state coach Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Assistant coach Ashiq Wani and mentor Faisal Andrabi.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Director Physical Education and Sports, Government Degree College Pulwama, Dr. Faisal Hayyat said that Aainball is the basic structure of other sports which help players to excel in other sports as well.
“There are extensive advantages by having fewer resources, on a small field, involving maximum players in a short period of time, being this a contact less sport,” he said.
Mohammad Hamane invented Aainball in 2009 in Morocco and the game is being played in 36 countries mostly in Europe and Africa.
