10th J&K UT Shooting Championship concludes

Jammu, Mar 02: 10th J&K UT Shooting Championship, organised by Jammu & Kashmir Rifle Association and sponsored by Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, concluded at General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club Bari Brahmana, Jammu with the prize distribution ceremony here today. The prize distribution ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Advisor Baseer Ahmad Khan.

The chief guest distributed medals and certificates to the winners and participants and while speaking on the occasion, expressed happiness on the successful completion of the championship.

He also congratulated all the winners, organizers and authorities of J&K Rifle Association who made all necessary arrangements for the conduct of the event. The Advisor assured of extending all possible help in the promotion of shooting as a sports activity in JK.

Around 100 shooters from various districts of J&K participated in the championship. The competition was held in 10 meters, 25 meters, 50 meters Rifle and Pistol events from February 26 to March 02.

Shooters, who attained minimum qualifying score (MQS) will be eligible to participate in 40th North Zone Shooting Championship which is scheduled to be held at Jaipur (Rajasthan) from Rifle and Pistol events from March 23 to April 06.

Among others present on the occasion were Dr S D Singh Jamwal, Dr Ashoutosh Sharma, G S Charak, Amjad Parvez Mirza, S.S Sodhi.
