Zampakadal residents demand macadamization of road

Srinagar, Aug 29: The residents and shopkeepers of Kakasarai, Zampikadal Sunday expressed strong anguish against the authorities for failing to macadamize the road in the area.
The aggrieved residents said that authorities had started the macadamization in the area; during which, several stretches in were macadamized, however, this significant stretch has been left without macadamization.
They said that the contractor started some work but then left it pending and now the dusty road has become a nuisance for the people.
Nazakat Ahmad, a local told Rising Kashmir, that before a few months authorities carried out a macadamization drive in the area during which several inner roads were macadamized, and black topping was also done in some stretches and this important road has been left without black tapping.
A shopkeeper Farooq Ahmad said that the goods in their shops are getting damaged due to dust, and we are being forced to close down our shops, we have also suffered massive losses due to back to back Covid-19 lockdowns and now the dust has added to our problems.
The residents and the shopkeepers urged the LG led administration to look into the matter and direct the concerned department to macadamize the road soon.
