Srinagar, June 15:  Senior political leader and upcoming independent candidate from Chadoora assembly constituency Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) Wednesday congratulated the people of Duniwara, Bugam, NoubugWathoora and khanda for construction of water supply schemes under JJM (JalJeevan Mission).
Mir visited the site at Doniwara and interacted with the concerned officers from the PHE division Chadoora.
In a statement Mir said that work on Overhead Tank (OHT), having the capacity of storing 50,000 gallons, is going on.
“We are thankful to the LG administration for the JJS scheme under which filtration plants along with an OHT’s are finally being constructed,” he said, adding that since 1996 the previous governments could not focus on the basic necessity of the people. He said that NC’s ex MLA and MLC lives 100 meters from the site and could not provide drinking potable water for the last 20 years to the people of his own village.
Mir said that another three-times -MLA and a minister under the Chief Ministership of Mehbooba Mufti and GhNabi Azad also kept people waiting.
Mir congratulated the people of Bugam and Wathoora also for the approval of an OHT with the capacity of 90,000 gallons.
“I am really thrilled to see the site and finally people of areas like Bugam, Noubug, Wathoora, Doniwara and Khanda will have four Overhead Tanks and filtration plants. I am thankful to LG administration that my requests and the recommendations on the expansion of supply of drinking water are finally accorded and the work has started,” Mir said.
Mir also said that a separate pipe line of 22 kms from Novard, Chadoora will also be completed in this project. A filtration plant at Noubug will resolve the chronic scarcity of the drinking water in the area.
Mir was welcomed by the people and hosted with refreshments at their residences in the villages.
Two filtration plants, four overhead storage tanks and a pipe line 22 kms, shall be completed within 8 months, he said.
Mir lambasted both NC and PDP ignoring the capital expenditures on basic infrastructure. He requested the people of district Budgam and in particular Chadoora area to remain careful and make the use of their vote with proper thought.
“If am elected by the people of Chadoora assembly constituency, I will develop the area and invest 24x7 time for the people,” Mir said.
