Although you need a variety of nutrients all through your pregnancy to keep yourself and your baby healthy, we have selected a few which are particularly important for your baby's development in your first trimester.
Folic acid: Found in beans, citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables. This is important for your babys development because it prevents from neural tube defects and other structural abnormalities. This vitamin is also prescribed by your doctor in tablet form. 
Calcium: Found in dairy (milk, yogurt and cheese) and dark leafy greens.
Iron: Found in meat, poultry, seafood, beans and greens.
Choline: Found in red meat and eggs.
Vitamin B12: Found in meat, poultry, seafood, as well as fortified breads and cereals.
Omega-3 fatty acids: Found in fatty fish, chia seeds, flax seeds and fortifed foods.
