Woman slips to death in Lolab, family suspects murder

Deceased’s husband detained for questioning, Investigation on: SSP Kupwara

 Srinagar, July 06:  Hours after a 34 year-old woman allegedly slipped to death in Cherkote, Lolab. The family of the deceased from Dadrusun held a protest at Kralpora, Kupwara, stating their daughter had been "murdered" and thrown to well by her in-laws .
The family and the relatives of the deceased lady (name withheld) assembled at the main town of Kralpora, Kupwara, and were protesting, seeking action against the accused persons.
The family members of the deceased lady told Rising Kashmir that "She had been facing domestic violence for the last two years." They claimed she had "an injury mark on her neck. 
"She was married two years ago and was continuously harassed by the in-laws. We have settled their issues many times in the past,” family members said.
They said that “her in-laws stabbed her and then threw her to the well to hide this crime.” The family said that they (her In-laws) didn’t even inform us that we could reach her home when the incident took place.
Irshad Ahmad Mir, brother of the deceased lady, told Rising Kashmir, "We received a call from her husband who said she had slipped to death."
 
The family and the relatives of the deceased lady have sought an impartial probe and strict action against the heinous crime. 
The doctors at the hospital told Rising Kashmir that the lady was having "abrasion". They said no major injuries were found on her body. 
Doctors  said the samples for the autopsy have been taken and sent to the lab for final reports. The doctors said nothing can be ruled out till the final report will be collected.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, SSP Kupwara YougalManhas said, "We have started the investigation in this case, and her husband has also been detained for questioning."
According to the officer, it will be clear how she died after the final autopsy report.
