Woman electrocuted to death in Khansahib

BUDGAM, July 01:A 30-year-old woman was electrocuted to death in the Keitch Razgeer area of the Khansahib tehsil in central Kashmiri’s Budgam district on Friday.
A police official told the Rising Kashmir that the woman received an electric shock when she was repairing an electric heater or wire at her home and died on spot. 
"She was also referred to the Sub-district hospital Khansahib where she was declared dead on arrival," He said.
The deceased woman has been identified as 30-year-old Haseena Bano, a resident of  Keitch Razgeer.
 
DGP sanctions Rs 44 lakh as Special Welfare relief for wards of deceased police personnel
Srinagar 01 July: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, on Friday sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of rupees 44 lakh to provide financial support to the families of the police personnel, who have passed away while in service.
 
As per a spokesman, the DGP also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs One lakh each for the marriage ceremony of  daughters of policemen who have laid their lives in the line of duty and welfare loan of rupees 10 lakh for self-treatment of serving police personnel vide different orders of Police Headquarters.
 
The spokesman said that special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased HC Mohammad Yousuf and HC Ghulam Mohi-ud-din who passed away while in service. These deceased personnel passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.
 
“Rupees one lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of these deceased police personnel through their concerned units for performing last rites. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds,” he added.
 
The spokesman said that the DGP also sanctioned special welfare loan of Rs five lakh each in favour of two police personnel to ease out their urgent financial needs for their self-treatment who are suffering from chronic diseases.  “The welfare loan amount is refundable.”
 
The DGP has also sanctioned Rs One lakh each as financial assistance in favour of NoKs of late SI Mohd Azad Shah and late HC Nazir Ahmad Khatana to defray the expenses in connection with the marriage ceremonies of their daughters.
 
The spokesman said that Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. “There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses”.
