Jammu, July 16: BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) J&K general secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta Saturday said that the Union Administration under LG Manoj Sinha is working towards empowering and honouring defence force personnel.
While addressing a press conference, Gupta lauded the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir government of enhancing the ex-gratia relief from 5 Lakh to 25 Lakh in favour of next of kin (NoKs) of defence personnel hailing from Jammu and Kashmir who attain martyrdom either inside or outside the Union Territory.
Further, he hailed LG Manoj Sinha for working towards modernising defence forces in J&K. He said that under the present government defence forces feel empowered and they have been given free hand to deal with terrorists showing zero per cent tolerance towards terrorism and separatist tendencies.
He strongly asserted that under the centre-led Modi government Indian military will soon emerge as the strongest military power in the world out-powering other nations. He heaped praise for Atamnirbhar Bharat's mission and said that a self-reliant military is instrumental in making a nation's defence capabilities robust.
Vibodh claimed that major reforms have been rolled out to transform the Indian army and new age technologies have been adopted. He also expressed anguish over the Congress for failing to modernise Indian armed forces during their government and flaunting 'fake love' for them in the present time to garner their lost base in the country.
