Two killed in Lolab road accident

Srinagar, July 04: A motorcyclist and a pillion rider were killed after being hit by a load carrier in the Lolab area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday.
 
According to eyewitnesses, a motorcycle (JK01AB 3829) was hit by a load carrier, injuring two people.
 
They said soon after the incident, the duo was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors there declared them dead on arrival.
 
The deceased persons have been identified as Adil Ahmad Shah, son of Nisar Ahmad Shah, and Rashid Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Hassan Shah, both residents of Hayatpora Lolab.
 
Locals also said the driver, after this incident, fled from the scene.
  
Meanwhile, a police officer told Rising Kashmir that the driver of the load carrier was apprehended quickly, and the vehicle was also seized.
 
The officer also said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is going on.
