Srinagar, April 28: CPI (M) leader Muhammad YousufTarigami Thursday said that Anganwadi workers and helpers working under the ICDS scheme in Jammu and Kashmir are without wages for the past eight months.
In a statement. Tarigami said that these scheme workers have been working tirelessly. Even during the ongoing fight against COVID-19 pandemic, they have been at the forefront.
These scheme workers have to feed their families, but despite working hard, they are not paid their wages on time, the statement said.
The central share and state share of their wages for several months is yet to be released.
Tarigami has taken up this issue with the Chief Secretary, J&K urging him for his immediate intervention and direction to the concerned for release of pending wages before Eid.
