Sub-Junior National Soft Tennis Championship concludes in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 29: 15th Sub-Junior National Soft Tennis Championship for Boys and Girls concluded Monday at Gindun Stadium Rajbagh, Srinagar.
The championship started on March 24 and concluded on March 28 2022 in which around  300 players from different States  and Union Territories  across India participated and  showcased their talent.
Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Ara was  Chief Guest on the concluding ceremony who also gave away  mementos to other guests who were present during the function.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Coulibaly D Herve, Diplomat Burkina Faso, West Africa, N. G. Vegda, Executive Director, Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India, Dr. Mir Zaffar Iqbal, Director, Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, CEO, Gulmarg Development Authority, Mohammad Rafiq, Assistant Director Handicrafts Department, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Manager Gindun Stadium Srinagar and Hilal Ahmad, Manager TRC Srinagar were also present on the occasion.
Nuzhat Ara also distributed  prizes and trophies among the winner, runner up teams and individual players who participated events like Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles.
Dr. Gh Hassan, General Secretary, J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association hailed all who cooperated and assisted in holding this national event in a peaceful atmosphere.
 
"We extend our gratitude to Madam Nuzhat Gull, for providing every kind of assistance for the development of sports across J&K," he said.
He also extended gratitude to J&K  Police, Health Services, Municipality, PHE departments and Media persons for their support in conducting the event successfully.
 
The national championship was organised J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association under the aegis of Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Joint delegation of SAKSHAM & Special Olympics Bharat calls on LG
Jammu, March 29: A joint delegation of SAKSHAM and Special Olympics Bharat- J&K today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here at Raj Bhawan.
The members of the delegation briefed the Lt Governor of their ongoing initiatives for the welfare of special athletes with intellectual or multiple disabilities. 
The Lt Governor, while interacting with the members of the delegation said that the UT government is endeavouring to further promote sports in J&K with special emphasis on meeting the needs of specially-abled sportspersons.
We have rolled out the J&K Sports policy-2022 which focuses on creating world-class infrastructure, coaching, and training of sportspersons including para-athletes & players, the Lt Governor added.
 The delegation which met the Lt Governor included Sh. Avey Gupta Pargal, National Joint General Secretary SAKSHAM; Swami Vishwanath, Kshetra Sanghtan Mantri SAKSHAM; Dr Ashwani Jojra, President, Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) J&K; Sh.  Raj Kumar Sharma, Sports Director J&K SOB and Sh. Pawan Singh J&K President SAKSHAM.
