Strict action to be taken against those who will not follow prescribed rates of sacrificial animals: FCS&CA official

Srinagar, June 30: The Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) on Thursday said that those who will not follow the issued rate list of the department for sacrificial animals will take strict action against them.
Director FCS & CA, Dr Abdul Salam told Rising Kashmir that we have deployed our task force to every area as well as police who ensure that there would be adherence to the prescribed rates.
“As well as we have a fixed rate list for Essential Commodities which will be issued soon and everyone should follow the list,” he added.
According to the official order, the Delhi Walla and Merino Cross varieties of Sheep have been fixed at Rs 310 per kg, Bakerwal and Kashmiri varieties at Rs 295 per kg while the rate for goats has been fixed at Rs 285 per kg. 
“Recently we conducted a meeting with the Divisional Commissioner in which we have decided all the things and will also take help from the nearest police station and the revenue department.”
“As the Eid ulAdha is nearing, we have made 12 checking spots in Srinagar and everything will be monitored,” he added.
The rates have been fixed under the J&K Mutton Licensing and Control Order 1973 and SRO 31 of 1974.
