“The gossips have to end, if anyone thinks he or she is being asked for any favour or bribe by any police official or employee of district police Srinagar, they can directly report on the number which we have issued and the identity of the person would be kept hidden”, SSP Srinagar said
In a tweet, Srinagar police wrote, “General Public is requested to bring to light any demand of bribe or favour from any officer/ personnel of district police at 9596770502.  This number is directly under supervision of SSP Srinagar. The impetus is on transparent policing &hassle free citizen centric services".
SSP Srinagar added that those who don’t want to make a direct call but want to report any bribe or favour incident can send a text message or can message on Whatsapp.
“The mindset has to change rather than making irresponsible comments or statements on social media, people should report such incidents and I ensure any incident of bribe or favour reported will be taken care of as per the law and those found guilty will be dealt as per the relevant laws”, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal added.
