Srinagar records highest number of active Covid-19 positive cases in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 29: As Covid-19 positive cases in the valley are showing a spike, district Srinagar in the valley has the highest number of the active Covid-19 positive cases amounting to 104 so far in the valley.
As per the daily released official data, Kashmir on Wednesday recorded 21 Covid-19 positive cases, of which 19 were reported from district Srinagar. The district Budgam and Bandipora recorded one case each, while the remaining seven districts of the valley did not record any case.
Medical experts in Kashmir have already asked people to follow Covid appropriate behavior in the wake of the rise in coronavirus cases.
"The rising numbers call for adoption of measures like use of masks and frequent hand washing in exercise of abundant caution for prevention of the spread of respiratory viruses in general and SARS CoV2 in particular," Director, SKIMS, Professor Parvaiz A Koul said in a statement.
Dr.Koul however, said there was no need to panic as the situation was not worrisome. "The situation is not worrisome as the positivity rate so far is not that high. Hence, there is no need to panic but lowering guard and paying no heed to Covid guidelines can degenerate the situation," he added.
Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 73 Covid-19 positive cases of which 21 were reported from Kashmir and 52 were reported from Jammu division.
As per the officials’ 31 Covid-19 patients recovered today of which 21 are from Jammu and 10 are from Kashmir.
