Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship concludes in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 22: The 33rd Jammu and Kashmir Senior Men's Volleyball Championship concluded here at indoor stadium,Polo ground Srinagar .
JKP clinched the 33rd Senior Volleyball championship in a close match by defeating Jammu District.
Dy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad, was the chief guest of the final match and was honoured by the organizers with memento-shawl on the occasion.
DC lauded the efforts of organizers District Srinagar Volleyball Association/ Volleyball Association of J&K and J&K Sports council for selecting Srinagar districts for this Championship after a gap of 2 decades and making the youth of district sports friendly.
Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul who was a special guest on the occasion .
She wholeheartedly supported the Volleyball Association of J&K Patron in chief Raj Daluja and his dedicated team in making the Volleyball game popular in remotest corners of JKUT.
She also reiterated her commitment to boost only recognized, professional sports in JKUT and wipe out the unrecognized sports in JKUT.
The response of youth, especially Volleyball lovers were seen on the ground and participants were drawn from all over districts of Jammu and Kashmir was overwhelmed.

Secretaries of District Volleyball Associations of Kulgam Pulwama, Srinagar, and Poonch) worked hard for the successful conduct of 3-day Mega event organized day and night under floodlight in indoor stadium Pologround Srinagar which concluded today.
VK Magotra Gen Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K speaking on the occasion disclosed that as many as 40 matches were played in 3-day Championship on a league cum knock out basis.
In the Championship new enthusiasm was seen among youth in restoring the sports Activities after suspension due to covid pandemic. The players/ officials adhered strictly to Covid guidelines in the Championship.
Earlier in semi-final matches, Jammu beat Kulgam by (3-2sets) score: 23-25, 26-24,25-20,23-25,15-9.
JKP beat Anantnag by (3-2sets) score 25-21,17-25, 20-25,25-16,15-7.

CEO Volleyball Association of J&K Kuldeep Magotra on the occasion awarded Trophies/ individual prizes to the winner, runner up, and 3rd position holders .
The Championship came to end with a clarion call to youth to spread communal harmony and to shun all social evils from the society especially drug addiction for their betterment and development.
