Selection trials for upcoming national Wushu championship begin in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 29: The two-day-long selection trials for upcoming National Junior Wushu championship commenced at Gindun Stadium Rajbagh on Friday.
As per National Wushu coach and Dronacharya Awardee, Kuldeep Handoo the selection Committee framed by Wushu Association of J&K are on job to shortlist the best players for the forthcoming 21st Junior National Wushu championship to be held at Cuttack Kerala starting from September 01 to 06 this year.
While talking to Rising Kashmir, Handoo said that in the said selection trials some of the best players are to be selected for the coaching camp for participation in national junior Wushu championship.
" Weighing and draw of lots of ceremony was held in the morning session today whereas in the evening youth and junior girls category  fought which started Friday," he said, adding a total of six girls were shortlisted for the said championship, and the selection trials for Junior boys, girls and youth (boys) events will take place tomorrow.
He added that more than 150 players are participating in the said event.
As per Handoo following players were shortlisted for the said coaching camp.
In Youth category, Hadiya Sidiq, 48kg category from Srinagar , Mehroosh Mubeen 52kg category Srinagar, Mehreen Jaan in 60kg category (KIC) Kupwara, were shortlisted for the said coaching camp.
However, in Junior girls category, Pakeeza Qureshi 45kg (KIC Kupwara), Sadia Tariq 48kg from Srinagar, Kaif in 56kg categories from Srinagar were shortlisted respectively.
