Srinagar, Aug 01: The two day District Rugby championship 2021 concluded on Thursday here at Batdal Zainapora, Shopian.
The championship was organized by District Shopian Rugby Association under the Aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Rugby Association, and was sponsored by J&K sports council.
The championship started from July 28 and successfully concluded on July 29. In this championship 16 boys and 9 Girls teams  participated across Shopian and showcased their talent and Rugby skills.
The main aim of this championship was to engage the youths of  Shopian in Rugby Game and instill the spirit of sportsmanship.
Principal of Government Girls high school Showkat Hussain was the chief Guest in the concluding ceremony who also distributed medals and trophies to the winners and Runners.
Hussain appreciated and encouraged all the Rugby players for their active participation in the game.
The Guest of honor was given to Mohammad Abass.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Secretary District Shopian Rugby Association, Parvaiz Bhat. President of District Shopian, Mohammad Shafi.
In the junior category NIPS ZAINAPORA emerged as the winners in the boys group and Reshipora Tigers” were the runners up. In the senior age category “Blue Eye Rugby club” were winners and “Brown Munde” were runners up.
In sub junior girls category Government Girls High School were winners and “Zainapora Reds” runners. In junior girls category Government High School Were the winners and “Friends 11” were runners.
