Rugby championship concludes in Kupwara

Kupwara, July 28: The two days Rugby championship concluded on Tuesday here at Zangli Main Ground Kupwara.
Assistant Commissioner Revenues (ACR) Johar Ali was chief guest in the event.
At the closing ceremony of Kupwara Rugby 7s championship 2021 while appreciating and encouraging players, Ali assured players every possible help for the development of the sports in the Area.
Around 17 teams across district Kupwara from various schools, colleges, academies and clubs comprising more than 130 players participated in the event and showcased their talent and sports skills in game.
In the senior category  JK Walay Rugby Club defeated LionHearts Rugby Club by 15: 5 and in u-17 category “One Kick Wonders rugby club”  defeated “Tigers Rugby club” by 10:5  while in u-14 category “Growth Sports Academy” defeated “Mughalpora Warriors rugby club” by 20-0 in finals today .
While talking to Rising Kashmir, President Kupwara Rugby Association Zubair Ahmad Sofi and General Secretary Kupwara Rugby Association Adil Manzoor Peer said that such events will be organized in Kupwara in future as well.
“We are committed for promotion and upliftment of Rugby sport in frontier district Kupwara,” affirmed Adil Manzoor peer.
Earlier, the championship started on July 27 (Monday)
The event was organized by Kupwara Rugby Association in collaboration with “J&K RUGBY Association” and “Growth Sports Academy” under the banner of J&K sports council.
