Rising Star defeats Hanjishart Hunks by 5 runs

Kupwara, June 17: Rising Star Pohru clinched the title of Pohru Super League Edition II, while defeating Hanjishart Hunks in an epic encounter by 5 runs at Pohru Handwara.
Winning the toss first, the Rising Star Pohru managed to set a huge total of 170 in the allotted 18 overs. Sajad Sofi, Afridi Khan, and Majid Khan remained the top scorers by scoring 43, 33, and 24 runs respectively.
While chasing the huge target of 170 runs, the Hanjishart Hunks, Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, and Nayeem Naik played quick cameos of 45 and 34 runs, respectively. However, they could not assist their team in winning this championship.
The Hanjishart Hunks needed 7 runs in the last over when the captain of Rising Star Pohru, Naveed Dar, handed over the ball to Gowhar Dar, who conceded 2 runs and also took crucial wickets, which helped his team win this trophy.
According to Naveed, it was very difficult to decide whom he would ask to go for last over as the team was under pressure.
Later, for his all-round performance, Gowhar Dar was declared Hero of the Match and Man of the Tournament.
The winner of the tournament was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 12000 and a trophy. while the runner's team was also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 4000 and a trophy.
Noorul Shahbaz, a social and political activist, was the Chief guest on the occasion, who handed over the cash and trophy to the winning team.
On the occasion, he also congratulated the organisers of the tournament for concluding the tournament in a record time.
