Resurfacing on Ali Jan road to start within next 10 days

Srinagar, June 28: The restoration and the resurfacing of the vital stretch, Dr Ali Jan road leading to SKIMS Soura is going to start within next ten days, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials from Roads and Building Department (R&B) told Rising Kashmir that most of the filing work is done on the Dr. Ali Jan road stretch and they are going to resurface the road within the next ten days.
“Most of the work is done on the Ali Jan road stretch which includes filling where it was needed and within the next ten days the restoration and resurfacing of the road will be started”, the official said.
Pertinently, the road was under construction for the drainage system for which one portion of the road was closed for vehicular movement which resulted in massive traffic jams in the area.
The official added that on both the tubes wherever the resurfacing and restoration is needed will be done by the department.
Meanwhile locals in the area have been saying that the main causes of traffic jams in the areas is the delay in road restoration, as one side of the route is being restricted to vehicular traffic.
Notably, the roads lead to the valley’s leading Tertiary Care Hospital SKIMS Soura, often remains busy with the movement of ambulances ferrying critical patients referred from valley’s different hospitals.
