Jammu, Aug 18: Apni Party (AP) provincial president, Jammu and former minister Manjit Singh Thursday appealed to the government to restore road connectivity, electricity and water supply system in Parmandal Block.
Addressing a public meeting at Parmandal Block, Manjit Singh said that the people are facing problems due to the disconnection of the roads following flash floods and heavy rains in Parmandal from last one week.
“The road connectivity needs to be restored as early as possible,” he demanded and pointed towards the worsening condition of electricity and drinking water supply as the supply system has been damaged.
He said that the electric poles have been uprooted from some of the areas and it has hampered proper electricity supply whereas the tab water supply has faced a similar fate.
“The people are unable to get drinking water supply. The Jal Shakti Department should send a team of experts to assess the losses and restore the tab water supply,” he said.
During his visit to the Parmandal Block, Manjit Singh was shocked over the devastation caused by flash floods and heavy rains as people were at risk after their houses developed cracks and incidents of soil erosion.
“The residential houses have become unsafe to live in. The authorities must visit the villages in Parmandal Block and make proper assessment of the losses and accordingly provide them financial aid,” he said.
Accompanied by ST Wing State President, SaleemAlam, District Youth President Mangat Ram and others, Manjit Singh conducted even the in accessible villages on foot and met the people affected due to the poor road connectivity.
He appealed to the Government to immediately take steps with regard to development in Parmandal which seems to be a backward area.
Meanwhile, ST State President, SaleemAlam also highlighted various development related issues being faced by the people in Parmandal Block.
He assured the people that the Party will leave no stone unturned to get their issues resolved. He said they will raise the concerns of the people before the authorities.
