President Lecturer’s Forum meets Principal Secretary Education, discusses various issues

Srinagar, June08:A delegation of the Lecturers Forum led by President Mansoor Ahmad Khan met Principal Secretary School Education B. K. Singh at the Civil Secretariat Srinagar on Wednesday.
The delegation had a detailed interaction with him and apprised him about the long pending demand for Assured Career Progression (ACP) and removal of stagnation at +2 level. Singh assured the delegation that the case is in active consideration of the department. The delegation while thanking Singh for this act, requested him to personally intervene into the matter and get the issue resolved for the Relief of thousands of lecturers who have been waiting for this moment for decades.
Singh was reminded about grievances submitted by the Association last year about revisit and reframing of Education Gazetted service rules and creation of Vice Principal post, to which Singh replied that reframing of service rules is being examined by allied departments. He assured the delegation that he iscommitted to creation of VP posts and feasibility and technicalities are being explored in this regard.
The ongoing ATD 2022 was also discussed and the department under the leadership of Mr. B.K Singh was highly appreciated for switching over to online transfer mode.
The delegation termed it historic,transparent and employee friendly move as teaching community is transferred based on their preferences, their grievances are heard and given options to reapply. Such a positive gesture is morale boosting for Teachers and a step in the direction of restoring honour and dignity of teaching community. Sigh was Requested to issue adjustment orders in favour of those lecturers who were recently repatriated from UT Of Ladakh awaiting adjustment orders and those who were retained on health grounds to resolve their Salary issues and to overcome deficiency of lecturers in Higher secondary schools. He was further Requested that a special transfer drive after culmination of ATD2022 Phase II, should be launched forLecturers appointed under SRO 202 with more than 5 years services in very hard zones/hard zone and Those who could not be transferred due to technical or CPIS errors despite have 10-12 years of service in other districts and divisions.
The recent episode that took place with principal Government Higher Secondary School Chowalgam was also brought into the notice of Singh and he was requested that department should Come with clear guidelines in the light of CSR and departmental protocols to ensure dignity and honour of teaching community is not compromised and every effort should be made to prevent such happenings in future.
To a query about fulfilling of posts of vacant principals, Singh assured that department is Soon going to promote more than 150 Sr. lecturers as look-after principals to strengthen administrative and academic culture in the higher secondary institutes.
Singh also informed the delegation that Department is soon going to start interaction process of applicants for revamping and appointment of academic staff in SCERT Divisional Office Kashmir.Those who accompanied the delegation include Mr. Mohammad Shafi Mir, Mudasir Kaleem, Zahoor Ahmad Nengroo and BasharatHafeez.
