Police arrests in-laws including husband in murder case in Bemina

Srinagar, August 3: Srinagar police on Wednesday arrested 5 persons in a murder case of a woman in Nundreshi Colony Bemina Srinagar. 
A police spokesman said that 5 suspected persons including 3 females and 2 males identified as Hafeeza Begum W/o Ghulam Qadir Dar, Sumiyaa W/o Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Siaqa W/o Yasir Ahmad Dar, Parvaiz Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Qadir Dar and Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Qadir Dar were taken into custody for further investigations.
Notbaly,TasleemaBano, 38-year-old wife of Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar of Nundresh Colony Bemina has died in her laws house in suspicious condition and was taken to hospital were doctors declared her dead-on arrival.
The family of the deceased alleged that Tasleema was often harassed by her in-laws in one pretext or another. “We asked their in-laws several times to divorce her”, the family alleged.
Her Cousin Raquib said that after her marriage she was at her parent’s home for almost three years because she couldn’t give birth to the child and her Mahr including jewellery was already spend by her husband around 13 lacs.
He further said “One day his brother-in-law came to his father’s shop where he said I will kill her whether it’s today or tomorrow.”
Tasleema’ family proceedings under 174CRPC were put in place on the same day of her murder and waiting for the autopsy report.
Station House Officer (SHO) concerned Sheikh Vakil while speaking to Rising Kashmir said that report from pathology department has been arrived and has been submitted. He said according to the post-mortem examination deceased has been died due to asphyxia (strangulation)
The SHO further said that the questioning is going on and we have today registered an FIR (109/22 U/S 302) against In-Laws of Tasleema and the further investigation of the case is going on.
