Srinagar, July 08: Political leaders Saturday urged the administration to make the required arrangements in view of the Eid-ul-Adha to ensure adequate stock of essential commodities is available in the markets and there is no black marketing, overcharging, and profiteering by the shopkeepers.

He also demanded an uninterrupted power and potable drinking water supply to the people across Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Eid.
In a statement, AltafBukhari said, “The administration must be alert all the time to ensure people get adequate stock of essential commodities, and all essential services in view of the auspicious occasion.”
Bukhari also demanded an uninterrupted power and water supply to the consumers across the J&K, especially the Muslim-dominated areas on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
“The concerned departments must ensure proper sanitation in the cities and the towns,” he said.
The AP leader urged the authorities to ensure the availability of public transport to facilitate hassle-free movement of the people to major congregational places on the day of Eid.
Meanwhile, former MLA and AP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir has called upon the District Administration Anantanag and sought facilities to devotees for special prayers on Eid-ul-Azha at the shrine of HazratZainuddinWali Sahib's (RA) at Ashmuqam. He also urged the concerned authorities to facilitate devotees in and around Sallar Tehsil and make necessary arrangements for Eid prayers.
Besides this, Mir also called upon the Food and Supplies Department to ensure that no hoarding or black marketing of goods is carried out and at the same time the government approved rate list should be followed throughout.
"Food & Supplies department should act on the complaints of improper distribution of ration among the consumers at some of the places and ensure deployment of market checking squads to ensure dissemination of quality products as per the set rate list by the administration"
Chairman Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF), in a statement, urged the government to make adequate arrangements for smooth celebrations of forthcoming Eid- ul- Azha and check soaring prices of essential commodities.
