Srinagar, July 08: Political leaders Friday expressed grief over the loss of lives due to cloud burst enrouteAmarnathyatra.
Former chief minister GhulamNabi Azad expressed his heart felt grief on the loss of precious lives due to cloudburst enrouteAmarnathyatra.
Early reports reveal that more than 10 dead bodies have been retrieved so far and more bodies are feared to have been washed away in the cloud burst impact. Rescue operations are reported to be in full swing.
"I am deeply pained to learn about this tragedy. I am sure that the LG administration will leave no stone unturned in rescue operations. My heart goes out for those who lost their loved ones in this calamity. I am sure that the local populace will join the rescue work as they are conversant with the topography of the terrain," said Azad.
Apni Party (AP) president Syed Mohammad AltafBukhari also expressed grief over the tragedy.
According to a statement issued here, Syed AltafBukhari while expressing his grief over the incident said, “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones in a tragic cloud burst at Amarnath cave. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace. I pray for the safety of all the pilgrims and those who are around, assisting them.”
CPI (M) leader MohamadYousufTarigami asked the administration to gear up the rescue operation at the site and demanded ex-gratia relief for the victim families and free of cost treatment to those injured in the accident.
Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen prayed for early recovery of the injured yatris and eternal peace to the souls of those who died in this unfortunate natural calamity.
PDF chairman urged the government to intensify rescue operations to save lives of yatris stranded enroute the holy Amarnath Cave.
