PHE daily wagers demand regularisation of their services

Budgam, July 30: The casual labours and Daily wagers working In Public Health Engineering (PHE) department across the Budgam district on Saturday held a protest demonstration here in district headquarters demanding regularisation of their services.
The Casual labours and daily wagers from various areas and villages of the Budgam district assembled outside the district administration complex Budgam under the banners of the Kashmir PHE Daily wagers Union Division Budgam and chanting slogans in favour of their genuine demands
The protesting casual labours and daily wagers said that they are demanding the regularisation of the services and implementation of the minimum wages across Jammu and Kashmir for all the casual labours and daily wagers.
Irshad Ahmad Bhat, one of protesters said that we are nearly 61000 daily wagers, Casual labourers, need base workers and other temporary employees who are serving the different departments in Jammu and Kashmir, but our services have not been regularised yet.
“These temporary employees are also facing a lot financial crisis in their families as their wages are pending in the different departments. But we are demanding the government for the implementation of the minimum wages act. So, these temporary employees will also get the relief if it will be implemented upon the ground’s levels,” Bhat said
Fayaz Ahmad Dev, other protesters said that we are those temporary employees who are serving the department for the last 15 years on a little number of wages, but our services have not been regularised yet.
"The government should must take proper decision for the regularisation of services all casual labours and daily wagers which are serving various departments across Jammu and Kashmir since the last 15 years on a peanut of wages," Dev said
