PF Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin discusses modalities with DC Kishtwar for effective implementation of EPF, MP Act

Kishtwar, July 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma on Friday met Provident Fund Organisation Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin after the meeting with HOPs and major Contractors (Principal Employers) at Chenab Bhawan, Dulhasti Kishtwar.
Officers of NHIDCL along with major Contractors, besides Xen,PMGSY and officials from the Office of ALC were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was given out that some of the Contractors of NHIDCL are not complying withthe P F Act, and many eligible employees have not been enrolled as members.
The PF Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin specifically instructed DGM, NHIDCL, Shailendra to ensure that none of the employees should be working at the sites of the Corporation without a Universal Account Number (UAN) and remittance of monthly P F contributions.
DC Kishtwar advised DGM, and NHIDL to inspect records of all the major contractors personally (citing the tunnel accident of Ramban, where both the local deceased employees were allotted UAN by Establishment- Sarla Projects) and further asked them to ensure compliance.
DC also apprised P F Commissioner about the ongoing works in the District. The modalities for a detailed meeting with all Senior Officers of different Departments of UT of J&K, based in Kishtwar were discussed on the occasion.
Some relevant literature on Pension Scheme and Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme were provided to all Officers present in the meeting.
Thereafter the representatives of the Loubrers' Joint Action Committee led by Vinod Parihar (Chairman) besides representatives of AITUC lead Ishtiyaq Malik and other stakeholders called on Commissioner PF Rizwan Uddin and apprised him of the various grievances of the pensioners of the Public sector including ex-employees and pensioner Widows.
They highlighted the demand for the transfer of pensionary claims of pensioners from EPFO centre Amritsar to EPFO centre Jammu for the ease of pensioners besides issues of delay in the settlement of some pensioners' claims even after the submitting the life certificates and some contractors in Hydroelectric Power Projects not properly contributing the EPF of their workers were also brought the notice of Commissioner PF.
After listening patiently, PF Commissioner assured them that their issues will be taken up with concerned quarters and genuine issues/demands will be redressed in time-bound manner.
