Udhampur, July 03: While undertaking a whirlwind tour of villages of Udhampur, BJP spokesperson, Ranbir Singh Pathania Sunday raised a pitch for immediate operationalization of Udhampur development authority.
Whereas, with the advent of J&K State Reorganisation Act 2019, notified Udhampur Development Authority vide SRO 318 dated:-03 -07 -2013, stands automatically dissolved.
While vide SRO 439 dated 14-12-2021 another notification for land use was notified in J & K. A sort of stalemate prevails here whereby cases of land use falling in the notified area under jurisdiction of approved master plan could not be processed. A full-fledged communication in this regard has been addressed by the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to the Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban development department with least follow up/corrective measures till date.
Pathania addressed meetings at village Jaganoo, Talmara, Loundana, Phangyal, Satani, Battal villages. He called for taking up restoration work of Jaganoo fort on priority.
Pathania was further apprehensive of delayed operationalization of JalJeevan Mission in J & K. He called for actualization of JJM on ground. He said that DPRs w.r.t. ambitious scheme programmes of the government have been completed long back and appropriate funds have also been provided by the central government but nothing tangible has emerged on the spot as yet. And people of uncovered/partially converted areas are languishing for proper and clean water supply.
He said that hundreds of crores are lying in the kitty of the UT government unused. He called for immediate measures to ensure that JJM is virtually actualised on ground and the government's flagship programme and resolution of 'HarGharkoJal' is virtually fructified. He further said that 'Harkhetkopani' is another revolutionary resolve of the central government but much more needs to be done in order to actualise the said scheme within the stipulated time periods. Time and again, time limits and periods which have been fixed for actualisation of the said scheme are being overshot.
He also called for provision of further basic facilities to the people living in these areas. He called for curbs on the unscheduled power cuts.
