Srinagar, July 22: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Friday said that hybrid terrorism is a move of the handlers in Pakistan to involve faceless elements in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the reporters at Anantnag after inaugurating the Women’s Police Station, the DGP Singh hybrid terrorism was aimed to create trouble in J&K, adding that counter strategy of J&K Police and other security forces is in place to fight this evil design with fortitude.
“Pakistani terrorists are using social media to destroy the youth's career in Valley. These handlers stationed in Pakistan make contact with terrorist associates and operatives and for that, they use social media to lure innocent youth aged 16-18 years of age,” DGP Singh said.
“Those innocent kids don't have the proper knowledge of religion and other things and are getting trapped in the terrorist handlers’ evil campaign on social media,” he added.
He said that now Pakistan has adopted a new strategy of "shoot and run" after targeting innocent civilians. “As per this new strategy, terrorists using small arms vanish from the spot but police have worked out and arrested many terrorists and their helpers involved in those crimes,” DGP said.
He said J&K Police would continue to take stringent action against those involved. “Police has successfully dealt with this new trend of terrorism and would continue to do so.”
Singh further said the J&K police will not let these nefarious crimes go unpunished.” Police are aware of every step of terrorists and their handlers, and action is being taken accordingly.”
About the women's Police station, he said the purpose behind opening the women's police station across the UT is to provide a better environment for women.
“Crime against women has been taken seriously to bring down any type of crime against women,” he added.
