Srinagar, June 08: Hailing from the HabbaKadal area of Srinagar, Junaid Ahmed is a singer who is going to make his debut as a playback singer for the national award-winning film-maker Onir's next feature film.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Juniad said he was very keen on singing, adding that he started singing at the age of 17. He started learning singing at an early age.
He stated, "I was very fond of music. I started my music production where I learnt musical instruments by repeating them multiple times until I mastered them and could do recordings as well as compose songs.”
“In 2020, I was performing on stage and I performed the song (Tere Bin) from the movie (Bas Ek Pal) and accidentally there was Onir.I don’t know if I sang the same song as in the Onir movie, and after we had a discussion. He loved my performance and this way we developed a connection. When he told me about my plans, I said that I wanted to be a singer, and he assured me that he would do something.”
After two years, Junaid received a call from director Onir saying, "I talked to Pritam Chakourborty about your talent, who has agreed to record," which was like a dream come true for him.
It is a movie called Pine Cone, and the recording will start in the upcoming month.
And the main thing about this shoot, a few days back, we had a conversation with KK. He also agreed to do a duet song for this movie but unfortunately he is no more.
I am fully supported by my family in pursuing my singing career and especially by Urfa Mir, who connected me with director Onir." Said Junaid
I faced many challenges along the way, but I never gave up on my dream and always believed in my talent. I believe that if you have the talent to achieve in your life, you can do it, and you should be honest with yourself. I am very grateful for this opportunity to prove myself on such a large stage.
“I am very thankful to my family and friends who helped me during my difficult time and who always encouraged my work, especially Urfa Mir. She is like a sister to me. They introduced me to Director Onir. Without their support, it would not have been possible to reach this level.”
“My friends and family believe in me that one day I will become a permanent playback singer in Bollywood. I am working hard to achieve this milestone, "he maintained.
It is to mention, Onir is an Indian film and TV director, editor, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for his film, My Brother.
