Mayor city lays foundation of community hall at Hazrat Shiekh Dawood (RA) shrine

Community hall would be completed within a stipulated time: SMC Commissioner

Srinagar, Aug 23:  Srinagar city Mayor on Tuesday laid the foundation of a two-storied community center at Hazrat Shiekh Dawood (RA) shrine here in Shahfaisal Abad Batmaloo.

According to Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattu, the community hall will have six guest rooms, with all facilities including an office room.
The community hall will be constructed at an estimated cost of 400.00 lakhs with a total of 6700 sfs of plinth area and will have all the facilities for organizing all types of social gatherings. 
 “There will be a proper "Waza room," a kitchen storeroom, and a common washroom, besides a large separate space for cooking within the premises of the community hall.
The Mayor, who was flanked by senior officers of the corporation and officials from the engineering wing on the occasion, said such facilitation centres help people of the valley to take benefits and organize social gatherings and events at ease and in a comfortable open space.
He further stressed that more spaces needed to be identified for the setting up of these community facilitation centers, especially in the areas where people are experiencing space constraints so that people can avail and afford such facilities in organizing various social events.
The Mayor, while expressing his gratitude to the people of the area, especially the elderly and women, said the community hall will be completed in a time-bound manner.
On the occasion, Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan said that by having these community halls, the problems of people organising social gatherings who do not have enough space will ease out to a greater extent.
These community halls provide large space for organizing various social events with parking facilities available, said Commissioner SMC.
Athar also assured the people that the said community hall would be completed within a stipulated time with the efforts of the engineering wing.
