Man arrested for stabbing Mother-in-Law in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar, June 20: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said they had arrested a man who allegedly stabbed his mother-in-law in the Rambagh area of the city on Monday.
Srinagar police in a tweet said, "Accused, namely Jasir Ahmad Gada of Batmaloo, was arrested for stabbing his mother-in-law in the Ram Bagh area."
"Case registered under sections of attempt to murder in Sadar Police Station." The victim lady is grievously injured and is battling for life in SMHS Hospital," the tweet further reads.
The victim's family has alleged the accused first attacked his brother-in-law and left him injured on his head. They said while his mother-in-law came to rescue his son, she too was attacked by the Jasir.
The family members have sought strict action against the accused person, stating that their mother is battling for life at the hospital.
The wife of Jabir has refuted her brother's allegations, stating that her brothers just did this to save themselves.
She said her brother was repeatedly harassing her, adding that her husband was attacked by a group of people. She has termed her brother's allegations baseless.
