LG Sinha mentions Javid’s struggle to keep Hokersar wetland clean in ‘Awam ki Awaz’ programme

Hails his initiative of removing litter, garbage from Hokersar Lake

Srinagar, June 19: In its monthly programme "Awam ki Awaz" Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday hailed Javid Ahmad a Management student from Srinagar’s Zainakote area for his ‘clean Hokersar wetland’ initiative.
Javid along with his friends has so far held various cleanliness and awareness programmes for cleaning the Hokersar Lake and has removed tons of garbage from the wetland.
In the monthly programme "Awam ki Awaz" J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made a special mention of Javed Ahmed of Zainakote who is mobilizing people to clean Hokersar wetland and nurses the dream of wetland restoration that could rejuvenate the ecosystem.
“Management student Javed Ahmed himself has taken up the task of cleaning the Hokersar Lake of garbage. He has worked tirelessly to make the local people a participant in this campaign.In the last few years, Javed has run around 70 cleanliness campaigns and many tons of garbage were removed from the lake”, LG Manoj Sinha said in his radio address.
 
Meanwhile Javid Ahmed while expressing his happiness on his mention by LG Sinha in his radio address wrote on his Twitter handle, “Thank you so much sir for these encouraging worthy notes, this will further strengthen my dedication thank u very much”.
 
Javid while speaking to the Rising Kashmir said that he is happy to know that he has been mentioned by the J&K’s LG in his special monthly radio address.
 
“I am happy that my work has been recognized, with this I will ensure I will be fully committed towards the noble cause”, he said.
He said that he has a dream of witnessing the lake as garbage and litter-free, and has so far organized around 70 cleanliness and awareness campaigns.
