J&K Bank Football Academy to hold trials in Srinagar, Jammu

 Srinagar, Sep 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank Football Academy (JKBFA) is going to conduct selection trials for three-year coaching courses from Sep 15 to 17 to groom local talent within the age group of 14-17 years here at TRC Synthetic Turf for Kashmir Division.
The trials for fourth batch will start on 10 am from September 15 to 17 for Kashmir Division and for Jammu division from September 20 to 22 at GGM Science College Jammu.
According to Manager JKBFA Tariq Ahmad, three batches have completed coaching courses so far and are playing for different clubs of the country and Jammu & Kashmir including departmental clubs.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Tariq said that J&K Bank academies were launched in 2012 in J&K with a purpose to impart coaching by the qualified coaches of the Bank to groom the local talent.
 “Our academy have groomed players like Danish Farooq who is currently playing in Indian Super League (ISL) Club, Bangalore FC, and many other players who have been playing in I League 1st division and I League 2nd division teams,” he said.
He added that the local talent who want to become a professional footballer must seize this opportunity.
 “Many of our players have got employment in departmental teams like J&K Bank, J&K Police and JKPDC and some of the players are playing in professional clubs like Real Kashmir, Lone star FC, Shaheen Sports, Kashmir Avengers and  Downtown FC.
Tariq also thanked Chairman J&K Bank R. K. Chhibber for his support for developing football culture in J&K.
"We are thankful to Chibber Sir, who is always at forefront for the development of the sports in J&K," he said.
