Srinagar, July 03: Janta Dal United (JDU) state general secretary, Vivek Bali Sunday visited the Kuther, Nowgampanchayat. A statement from the party said that the local people brought many issues to his notice.
There is no drinking water in Kuther, Nowgam and not even a handpump, so people are struggling for a bucket of water, he said, adding that the Kuther Nag has no fencing and not a single garden in the shrine.
People are demanding a swimming pool in the same area so that it will attract tourists and will be the source of revenue. There are multiple lamps available but not a single lamp is working, Bali said.
The main road to Kuther Nag road is macadamised and it takes time to commute, so there is a need to take concrete steps and work on this priority.
Bali said that the situation in the panchayat is very pitiful and people are suffering because of lack of funds. Citizens are asking for a Kisan Credit Card so that it will help them in one time settlement. All these demands are already prolonged and early action in this matter is solicited.
The sarpanch and panches were available during the briefing. After taking into consideration all these demands Vivek Bali urged the Lieutenant Governor G to intervene and appealed to him for early action.
